Hi everyone,
I’ve been using the new Report Builder in Striven, and while it’s a great tool, I’ve thought of a couple of enhancements that could make it even more powerful and user-friendly. I wanted to share these ideas with the community and see if others have similar thoughts or additional suggestions. Here’s what I have in mind:
-
Highlighting/Coloring Options:
For users who manage workflows based on the status of line items, it would be beneficial to have a feature that allows for color-coding or highlighting based on status. This would make it easier to spot key information at a glance, especially in complex reports. This type of feature is common in other ERP systems and would add significant value to the Striven Report Builder. I have included a photo of a past ERP system:
-
Scheduled Reports with Email Integration:
Another feature that could improve efficiency is the ability to schedule reports to run at specific times and automatically email the results. For example, setting up a report that sends tomorrow’s Sales Order details the night before would streamline operations. Additionally, this feature could be integrated with workflows, where certain conditions in the workflow trigger these scheduled reports, making it even more useful for automation and ensuring timely access to information.

Good Day Billy,
We are happy to hear that you are utilizing the new Report Builder and finding it helpful. The two ideas you proposed are very good ideas. We would like to hear more about your thoughts, so I will open a task to follow up with you in more detail.
Thank you again for sharing!

Good Day Billy,
I just wanted to follow up and let you know we have submitted the enhancement requests for these ideas.
Thank you!

Both of those would be incredible improvements.
Scheduled report distribution was something I struggled with, but I ended up creating a simple reoccurring email reminder in Gmail that sends the link to the custom report(s) on a schedule. With the ability to share to non-system users, it was a quick workaround, but I would MUCH rather that emails, texts and all communications originate, and are tracked, within the ERP. I would rather our users stay in Striven to send an email to anyone related to the business. Customers, Vendors, other Employees, Any Contacts… Be able to initiate and see replies for emails directly within Striven. I realize that Communcations can do that, but it requires the other side to create a portal account, and not every contact is comfortable with that system or wants to use it.
The next step would be integrating with a VOIP partner, like Go-To, for CRM management within Striven for phone calls and texts. This would give the ability for Striven to create new contacts directly from phone calls and texts, or have a customer’s dashboard open in a new tab when a contact was calling. Alternatively at least have a phone/text module for sending automated communications based on Workflows. This would introduce the ability to send ‘On the way’ calls and texts via workflow and track and record (for quality and training purposes) calls for easy documentation, purchase order and sales order approvals.
Now that the new report builder has so much more functionality, I would like to see a Workflow revamp in the near future, adding more trigger options. There are a lot of Workflows and automated reminders that could be triggered from Purchase Order, Bill, and Transaction datasets. For example, I want an email or task created for the fulfillment department if a PO doesn’t have an ETA within 2 days of Approval. I want an email to go to all of my Vendor A/R departments each time a Bill Payment is made (because we pay via ACH, and they have no timely way of knowing we sent money otherwise) that gives the payment detail (which bills were cleared with the payment and which credits were applied).
@DBricker This has a lot of great ideas. I have been drafting an ACH post for a while now, would you be so kind to take a look at it and provide your thoughts? ACH Payment Method and Workflow Trigger
