Enhancement Request: SMS Appointment Confirmation & Rescheduling

I’d like to propose adding automated SMS appointment confirmations for meetings scheduled through Striven.

Today, nearly every doctor’s office, service provider, and contractor sends a text message before an appointment asking recipients to confirm or reschedule. A simple message such as:

“You have an appointment scheduled for tomorrow at 2:00 PM. Reply Y to confirm or N to reschedule.”

This small interaction has become an expected customer experience and could significantly improve attendance rates for sales meetings, demos, customer onboarding sessions, and service appointments. a Twilio-like service will be needed

Proposed Functionality

Since Miles already utilizes Twilio for SMS communications, this enhancement could leverage that integration to:

  • Automatically send a confirmation text a configurable amount of time before an appointment (e.g., 24 hours or the morning of).
  • Accept simple SMS responses:
    • Y = Confirm appointment
    • N = Request to reschedule
  • Automatically update the appointment status based on the response.
  • Display a confirmation indicator (such as a checkmark or “Confirmed” status) directly on the appointment.
  • Trigger a workflow notification when someone responds “N,” alerting the assigned salesperson or team member to contact the customer and reschedule.
  • Optionally notify the owner if no response is received within a configurable timeframe.

Business Value

No-shows have always been one of the biggest challenges for sales demos and discovery meetings. Every missed meeting represents:

  • Lost selling time
  • Lower sales productivity
  • Delayed sales cycles
  • Poorer customer engagement

Providing prospects with a simple way to confirm or reschedule should reduce no-show rates while improving the customer experience.

Future Applications

Although the immediate benefit is for sales appointments and demos, this functionality would extend across many areas of Striven, including:

  • Field Service appointments
  • Installations
  • Maintenance visits
  • Customer training sessions
  • Professional Services
  • Support appointments
  • Consulting engagements
  • Recruiting interviews
  • Any calendar-based customer interaction for all sales consultants (MilesIt Included)

This enhancement would provide value across multiple industries and departments, making it much more than a sales feature it becomes a platform-wide customer communication tool.

Why This Matters

Customers may eveb already expect this experience because healthcare providers, salons, automotive shops, and countless other businesses use it every day. Bringing this capability into Striven would modernize appointment management, reduce missed appointments, and create a more seamless experience for both employees and customers.

You have my vote, this is great!
