Name of Feature/Request:
Be able to set the Tax Code when adding a new Location from the Quick Add function on a Sales Order
What financial, time savings, or quality of life improvements will occur with this:
Save time and ensure accuracy to be able to both add the new Location and ensure the correct Tax Code is set so it’s correct the first input.
Attempted solutions so far:
Manually change the Tax Code at the Customer Location level.
Add the new Location and set the Tax Code then before the Sales Order is created.
Digging deep - Any additional Why behind this request / How was this accomplished before Striven:
We primarily use the quick add in our quotes (for ease of use) to add locations. More often than not, these addresses are one-offs, and we will never send anything to this address again. However, there are instances where we will ship to an address that we’ve shipped to before, albeit with minor changes (i.e. The location name would change, there maybe a difference C/O in the address). This has previously caused for the tax rate to revert back to the Ontario tax rate when previously that address was associated with another province. Being able to set the Tax Code when the new Shipping Location is added using Quick Add on the Order will prevent us from having to manually change the Tax on the Sales Order. This is because the Tax Code can only be set at the Customer Locations level and if the Shipping Location is added using Quick Add during creation of the SO then the Tax Code changes to the Default Tax set in the Tax Agency Settings.
