Name of Feature/Request: To have a separate ITEM DESCRIPTION for PO
What financial, time savings, or quality of life improvements will occur from this: To have a separate ITEM DESCRIPTION for PO Things to Consider: PO is for Vendor Side SO is for customer side they need to have a separate description for the item Suggested Alternative Solutions: Use Item Custom Fields Description
Original Description: We have an issue I would like your input on. Since Striven only has 1 Item description field, (instead of 1 for the customer and 1 for internal), we have created a custom customer description field that prints on the invoice. Problem is that when we make a change on the invoice description, it still pulls from the custom field rather than the invoice. Examples below. We have an item called LEGACY PART that we use for used parts since we do not want to keep them in our inventory. The description said, “Replace with actual brief description” and the tech would put what the item was. But the invoice is saying, “Replace with actual brief description” (see attached invoice). What can we do? Same thing happens with MISC. Only thing I have now done is change the LEGACY description to say, “Parts”, but that does not solve the issue. | Frequency: Daily | We would like the ability to edit or override item descriptions directly on Sales Orders or Invoices without changing the default item description. Currently, our item descriptions sometimes contain internal information that should not be visible to customers. Since we cannot modify the description from within a Sales Order or Invoice, it creates a challenge. For example, we use an item called “LEGACY PART” as a catch-all for used inventory. The description changes each time to specify the part type, so a fixed description is not ideal. In QuickBooks , there are separate fields for purchasing and sales descriptions, and both can be overridden at the transaction level. Having a similar option in Striven would allow us to customize item descriptions per transaction while keeping the default item record unchanged.
