Name of Feature/Request: To be able to manage task permission in Task Type Level
What financial, time savings, or quality of life improvements will occur from this: To be able to manage task permission in Task Type Level | Frequency: During Operations | The customer is a security company with different employees managing their clients’ security cameras. She is requesting a way to control access to task types, ensuring that only certain tasks can be viewed by specific employees.
Attempted Solutions So Far: Upon review, we can handle this request by setting very limited permissions for tasks, starting with the following:
-Task: Assign to All Employees
-Task: Mark as Complete
-Task: Mark as Cancelled
-Task: Mark as Done
-Task: Edit Due Date
-Task: Edit Start Date
Once these permissions are set, you can create a report using the new report builder. Use the TASK dataset, filtering it to only show the specific tasks you want the team to view and reassign. There’s no need to grant additional permissions, as the report created with the new report builder can now be accessed by users as long as they’re logged into the system. Through the report, they will be able to access the tasks assigned to them. Limiting their permissions will prevent them from searching for tasks that aren’t assigned to them.
We are also now using customer assignments to put more limit on what the employee can view.
