Striven Community Post - Create a "Pick Ticket” from A Quote or Project

Name of Feature/Request: Striven Community Post - Create a "Pick Ticket” from A Quote or Project

What financial, time savings, or quality of life improvements will occur from this: Would like to create a trigger or system that creates a "pick ticket” from the quote or project that copies all the parts to a check list. Then you can mark what parts are pulled and allocated to that job and the system keeps track of what parts are pulled from inventory and puts them in a “staging” or job warehouse. We are doing this manually for every job but I was thinking if the system had a trigger similar to how it works with item builds that generates the list and then lets you allocate those parts where they are you can see how much is allocated to jobs/installed not billed in your warehouse more accurately. | Frequency: Daily – Sometimes 3 – 5 times a day depending on how many quotes parts are pulled for. | This would improve workflow and performance and become a streamlined process. Striven offers everything I’m asking for, but not in the places they are needed to better manage warehouse inventory and be able to get this information quickly. Someone who works the front end and has access to reports and financials is not the same person who works the warehouse so some of these reports and quick searches have to much or not enough information for the back office. I think if this got layered at the quote/sales order level it would make for better warehouse organization. As of 2024 we started creating a warehouse for every approved job that parts are pulled for so we can accurately count inventory that’s stocked without skewing inventory pulled for jobs. I think this would help a lot of companies who stock a lot of material for Project Management and need a way to keep their inventory straight and have an idea of what parts need to be ordered quickly. As of right now this is a two man operation to be done effectively due to permissions.

Attempted Solutions So Far: 1. My thought would be “Under actions” there is a “create pick ticket” option. This then behaves the way PO’s behaves but instead of opening a po screen it opens the “item transfer screen”

  1. Once this action is saved it allows you to run a report or print this list of what parts were pulled for the job/allocated. It is linked to the project and you can know what your cost of goods that is pulled for this job currently/vs what is left.

  2. This allows you see what parts you have in stock vs pulled for jobs quickly. What is left to be ordered because the fulfilled qty is zero.

  3. You can run this multiple times so if you have to pull from this job you can easily transfer or steal from another job by opening the part and seeing what jobs have that part pulled already. (Same dialogue window when

  4. The ability to create this new warehouse on the fly in item transfer window if permissions allow.

Digging deep - Any additional Why behind this request / How was this accomplished before Striven in what system or software: Previously accomplished: Right now a work order is generated to tell the warehouse manager to pull parts. He then fills in a custom column on the quote type of the date and quantity pulled and records the serial # if it applies. Then I create a new warehouse with the quote # under a JOBWarehouse parent and transfer it to the new warehouse. Once the parts are sold I close the warehouse.
