[21:41] Jordan Wood: Hello Courtney! [21:41] Courtney: To clarify you are requesting to change or add new statuses for sales order right? [21:42] Jordan Wood: Yes, specifically for sales orders. We want to add in a Previewed status. [21:43] Courtney: Ok. Right now we do not have the ability to change those or add new statuses. They are hard-coded in the system as they are now. Can you tell me more about how you want to use this Previewed status and/or its purpose for your business? [21:49] Jordan Wood: Sure, our business sells and installs fireplaces and stoves for our clients. So our quoted status is used for when we first quote out an estimate for our clients, The preview status would be used for clients we have physical been out to their residence or place of business and and updated their quotes with what we found while on site. Then we use the approved status for customers who put money down and progress status is once we get everything on order and setup and install time with them. [21:51] Courtney: Ok so Previewed would be in between Quoted and Approved. I can certainly get an enhancement request open for this to see if we can have the ability to customize these in the future; however I am thinking you may be able to use a custom field on the sales order in the meantime. When you are in a quoted status, and it moves to Previewed, you could have a checkbox, Yes/No field, or a text box to indicate it has also been previewed. So it would stay in quoted, but you would also have that field indicating it was previewed as well. [21:52] Courtney: It could be a section in the sales order with a Yes/No field for Previewed? and then you could have another free form custom field underneath to add notes based on your findings at the job site. [21:53] Courtney: Would that seem like a plausible interim solution for you? [21:54] Courtney: Custom fields on sales orders can be added to custom reports in the event you needed to pull data based on that “status” [21:55] Jordan Wood: That could possible work for now. The main thing for us is being able to sort through orders quickly so we can see how many we quoted vs how many were previewed in a certain time frame. [21:56] Jordan Wood: Would we need to go into the setting to look up custom fields? [21:56] Courtney: Ok I definitely think I can help you come up with something. I am not sure how you are currently pulling data, but I would be able to help you build a report you can run quickly after the custom fields are set up and you start using them on orders. [21:56] Courtney: You would have to set up the custom fields on your Sales Order Types within your settings. [21:57] Courtney: If you would like to meet with me on Monday morning or another time that works for you next week, I would be happy to walk through everything with you live. [21:58] Jordan Wood: I think I could meet with you on Monday. What time do you have available? [21:59] Courtney: Let me first ask you what timezone you are in [22:00] Jordan Wood: we are in Minnesota so i believe that is central? [22:00] Courtney: Ok. Are you free at 8:30AM Central? [22:01] Jordan Wood: Do you have anything a little later? 930am or 10am [22:01] Courtney: Absolutely! Either of those work for me. So whichever you prefer. [22:01] Jordan Wood: Lets do 10am [22:02] Courtney: Perfect! I will add that to my calendar now [22:02] Jordan Wood: Great thanks!! [22:03] Courtney: Ok I have added that and you should get the notification shortly with a meeting link [22:03] Courtney: Is there anything else I can help with at the moment? [22:04] Jordan Wood: I just received the link. I think we are good to go [22:04] Courtney: Ok sounds good! I think it will be easier to talk through our options over a screenshare.
