Name of Feature/Request: Rename filters to match columns names in Sales Order dataset & update to allow Select from List vs. Yes/No
What financial, time savings, or quality of life improvements will occur from this: Improve user experience when searching for filters that match up to column names. And to improve the functionality of the Assigned To filters within the Sales Order dataset | Frequency: Any time a new report needs to be created | Save time in finding necessary columns/filters when creating or recreating reports in Report Builder (Beta). This will also allow more flexibility in the information that can be filtered.
Attempted Solutions So Far: Finding filters and columns to get to the correct data, and then Refining Results to filter on a specific name. However, that process was made difficult due to the naming conventions of filters and columns not always matching exactly. Refining Results creates extra steps each time the report is run vs. being able to only filter on certain names before running the report.
Digging deep - Any additional Why behind this request / How was this accomplished before Striven in what system or software: Original Description: I am running into frustration finding filters related to columns as the naming convention is dissimilar.
I want to filter on primary assigned to, looking for orders being handled by my direct reports. Searching for “Primary Assign” or “Assigned To” does not return any filters. i took a guess i might find it by searching for “sales order: employee” trying to play along with the structure of the results and found this.UPDATE: when trying to actually use this filter i found it was a true/false i guess to check if there is a primary assignment, not who it is, so I still dont know yet how to filter by what i want
I would suggest updating the naming structure of filters to be more in line with the column names or otherwise making the filters more ‘discoverable’ through category dropdowns or other ways that dont rely on ‘guess and check’ as the means of finding the filters you need. | Previously accomplished: Utilized old Report Builder successfully to pull in the necessary Primary assigned to names/filters
