For those that are unaware, we do have a Square POS integration. Please reach out to me, your support specialist, or the support team in general for more information.
I would agree that Striven has some ways that it does work as a POS system, at least close enough for our retail showroom floor. A few things we added to make this work:
SNBC BTP-R880NPV Thermal Receipt Printer to network amongst multiple computers(they can USB connect to a single computer).
We had to play around with formatting the thermal receipt to fit correctly.
Barcode scanner.
Stripe Credit card reader.(IF YOU DON’T DO THIS IT IS TOUGH).
Cash drawer that triggers from SNBC Thermal Receipt printer (would be nice if Striven could issue a ESC/POS “open drawer” command ONLY for Cash or Check payments).
I believe less and less people want to paper receipt and training your staff to offer email instead is so much easier but it is nice to have the thermal for a quick sale of small items.
Have you explored Webhooks for the opening of the cash drawer? We use them to open our physical building door - I am sure there has to be at least one cash drawer that can accept the webhooks command to open. It would be available to open at any given time (can be scheduled) but it is a push on command button you can favorite in Striven to trigger the opening of the drawer. And we track every time the Webhook is executed. We touch on them in the bottom of this guide.
