Name of Feature/Request: Add a permission to not allow user to view Pricing on Sales Orders
What financial, time savings, or quality of life improvements will occur from this: Add more security for users to not be able to view Pricing from Sales Order. | Frequency: Daily | Teresa needs her Technicians to be able to add Items to the Contract but not see the Price and that they also need to see and fill out the Custom Fields. Right now she gives her Technicians the permission "Sales Orders - Add/Edit (only Items View) because she likes that the Price does not show. This however does not fully work because then it removes the ability for the user to view Custom Field information.
The permission “Sales Orders - View” overrides the prior permission however with view only access the user can view Custom Fields (good), Pricing (bad), and also cannot edit line items information (bad).
Finally, the permission “Sales Orders - Add/Edit” allows the user to edit line items, view Pricing, and view Custom Fields.
Teresa needs the ability to give Sales Order - Add/Edit access but for Pricing to not be visible for the user.
Attempted Solutions So Far: Was using the permission “Sales Orders - Add/Edit (only Items View)” to allow user to edit Sales Orders but not see Pricing however then user cannot view Custom Fields since it is Items View.

One tech sees the contract fine and can add items. The other tech can see the contract, but the items field is greyed out. What could be causing this? [20:41] Gabrielle has joined the conversation [20:41] Teresa Youngblood: Hi Gabrielle! [20:41] Gabrielle: Good afternoon Teresa! [20:43] Gabrielle: Can you confirm if they are looking at the same exact Contract? [20:43] Teresa Youngblood: I can only log into 1 at a time, but I did check several contracts and they are all greyed for the 1 tech [20:44] Teresa Youngblood: I will check in a moment [20:47] Gabrielle: Okay, I wanted to double check since there is another reason unrelated to permissions that would cause the line items section to be greyed out and that is if is contract managed and the Contract has been approved already. [20:47] Teresa Youngblood: No it’s not contract managed… almost there [20:49] Gabrielle: Got it! [20:50] Teresa Youngblood: Would it have anything to do with the contract status of Incomplete? [20:54] Teresa Youngblood: I just confirmed that both techs are greyed out on 2 contracts. We have not had this issue before. The one tech is brand new. I have no idea what could have changed. [20:54] Gabrielle: No I don’t believe that should matter. What is the name of the employee who cannot edit? Also, could you add me as a Full Access Employee in your new Striven account using my email gseely@striven.com and share this Contract with me so I can look into it further? [20:56] Teresa Youngblood: Jose and Jubari. Come to think of it, I did change a permission the other day but I don’t remember which one! [20:56] Gabrielle: We will figure it out! [20:57] Teresa Youngblood: I added you [20:59] Gabrielle: Given the new piece of information that neither technician can edit the Contract line items please ensure that the permission called “Contracts - Add/Edit” is added to their User Role. [21:00] Teresa Youngblood: They have Add Edit (only items view) because they should not see pricing. [21:01] Gabrielle: Oh okay, could you please share a Contract with me which they cannot edit? Or is it all Contracts? [21:01] Teresa Youngblood: So far #373 and #374 [21:01] Gabrielle: Thank you Teresa. Just a few moments please. [21:06] Gabrielle: Can you please add me back as a Full Access User? [21:06] Teresa Youngblood: Done [21:09] Gabrielle: Can you recall if they are receiving this message?

[21:13] Teresa Youngblood: No worries [21:17] Gabrielle: Hm, I am trying to recreate the view Jose and Jubari are receiving being assigned to the Technician User Role and I cannot view the Contract so it’s showing differently for me. [21:17] Teresa Youngblood: Strange [21:17] Gabrielle: Doesn’t look to be tied to any Assignments at the Customer level. [21:17] Teresa Youngblood: They both have the same assignment [21:20] Teresa Youngblood: Weirder… I temporarily gave them reg Contract Add/edit and then changed it back but now they still see the pricing! [21:23] Gabrielle: If they refresh do they still see it now? I am thinking this is likely due to what you suspected before - It being in an Incomplete Status. I better create a Task so I can test this out further and not keep you waiting longer. [21:25] Teresa Youngblood: Yes they still see

[21:30] Teresa Youngblood: I just removed the Contracts - View permission and now they cannot see pricing. But I feel like we needed that for something else. [21:31] Teresa Youngblood: and now they can enter items!! [21:31] Teresa Youngblood:

I had to give them Contracts-View in order for them to see the custom fields I created in Contracts!!! [21:32] Gabrielle: Ah! They can now edit with that permission you just added [21:32] Teresa Youngblood: I took the permission away [21:32] Teresa Youngblood: and then it worked, but no custom fields [21:33] Teresa Youngblood: I know this is confusing [21:34] Teresa Youngblood: So when I do NOT give them Contracts - View, they do not see pricing which is correct, but they do not see the custom fields. When I DO give then Contracts - View, it shows them pricing and they cannot add items’ [21:35] Teresa Youngblood: With Contracts - View…

[21:56] Gabrielle: Teresa, I understand what you are explaining now. I am going to create a Task for this so I can test further and what these permissions should and should not allow. Because ideally - you need whichever appropriate permission to not allow the user to view Pricing but be able to edit these line items for view only and also view the Custom Fields, correct? [21:57] Teresa Youngblood: Yes they need to add items to the contract, but not see the price. And they also need to see and fill out the custom fields I created for the contract. This is a daily thing for us so this is STAT!! Thank you
[21:59] Gabrielle: I’ll reach out to you once I have more information and the decide on the appropriate next step to take. As always, you patience is appreciated! Thank you and have a great rest of the day, Teresa. [21:59] Teresa Youngblood: Thank you, you too! [22:00] Gabrielle: Thank you for your chat today. You should be receiving an email requesting your feedback. This will reflect on me and our interaction today with this Chat. I would greatly appreciate it if you could indicate your level of happiness with my performance by clicking one of the faces and submitting any comments you would like to share. ![]()
