Name of Feature/Request: View only access to a Purchase Order from a Sales Order
What financial, time savings, or quality of life improvements will occur from this: Frequency: Daily when Sales people are checking on the status of products waiting to be delivered | Sales Rep check on their open Sales Orders daily to see what the status is of the Purchase Orders that are related to the Sales Orders. Since they run using on-demand inventory 90% of all sales orders have a related purchase order and they are waiting for those purchase orders to be delivered. Using the related to feature gives them one-click access to the Purchase Order to see if it has been received. The customer does not want the Sales Rep to have the ability to change or modify the Purchase Orders they just want them to be able to see if the product was ordered If it has been received into Inventory. If there was partial delivery of what was on the Sales Order etc..
Attempted Solutions So Far: Attempted to Give Employees the permission “Purchase Orders” that gives them the ability to View/Add/Edit a purchase order. Used the Approval limit on their employee record to try to prevent them from being able to make changes to the PO. What we ran into is that once the PO is approved the employees are able to make all changes including adding and removing items and are able to save the Changes. Since the PO is in the Approved Status they are able to save changes.
Also looked at a custom report but the Employee starts at the Sales order and then clicks the PO to see what the status is of the items being received into inventory.
Digging deep - Any additional Why behind this request / How was this accomplished before Striven in what system or software: Previously accomplished: Employees are given the permission “Purchase Orders” with a Purchase order approval limit of $1.00
