Sorting Sales Orders numerically

Name of Feature/Request: Sorting Sales Orders numerically

What financial, time savings, or quality of life improvements will occur from this: To have the ability to sort Sales Orders in ascending numeric order. | Frequency: Any time searching for Importsed Cases | I understand that the Case # field is actually a text field and therefore it doesn’t sort the way you would expect numbers to sort (1, 10, 2 instead of 1, 2, 10), but it would be very helpful if we could sort our cases numerically in a report since that’s the primary way our staff keeps track of new work that’s coming in.

Attempted Solutions So Far: Another option is to create a custom field of a numeric type, duplicate our case number in that field, and use that field to sort our reports. That would work, but a) it cuts into our limited custom field allotment, b) it adds a step to case creation, and c) it’s another opportunity for user error.

Digging deep - Any additional Why behind this request / How was this accomplished before Striven in what system or software: Original Description: Could you add a sort option to alphanumerical fields in the report builder that will treat the field as numeric for sorting purposes? | Previously accomplished: For now we are sorting by Created On which will work in most scenarios, but where it breaks down are the cases that were Importsed since they use when they were Importsed as the Created On timestamp.
