[13:50] Ashley Porter: on both an invoice and a po/item receipt [13:50] Ashley Porter: so customer has a bad switch. I want to remove that switch from their account, send back to the manufacturer. Show this on the invoice and the po [13:51] Ashley Porter: then when i get the advanced replacement receive the advanced replkacement and receive the negative item that was returned for credit [13:52] Courtney: Ok give me just a moment to look into this for you. [13:55] Courtney: Currently negative quantities on serialized items are not allowed on invoices/bills/POs/etc. [13:56] Courtney: What is the need to show this on the invoice vs. adjusting it in inventory? [13:56] Courtney: I just want to get an understanding of the reasons you need to see it specifically on the transactions and orders. [13:56] Ashley Porter: So we can track it for warranty purposes [13:57] Ashley Porter: our warranty vs the manufacturer’s warranty [13:57] Ashley Porter: plus audit that the part was removed from csutomer returned to vendor, returned to customer with new part [13:58] Ashley Porter: im trying to automate this process but in order to do that when you have multiple parts going out we need to be able to track them by serial # [13:58] Ashley Porter: so we can see all the history for that item/serial # [14:03] Courtney: Ok in order to do this on the transactions/orders it would require an enhancement request which I am happy to submit for you. However, I wanted to see if you can use the Serial Numbers by Location report. It is not perfect for this, but it does show you by location. And it has links to tie the lines in report to the transactions/adjustments/transfers that impacted that inventory.
