Name of Feature/Request: Enhancement request - SKU search in a sales order item group or in sales orders
What financial, time savings, or quality of life improvements will occur from this: To improve the item search functionality in Sales Orders by allowing users to search using the Item Description in addition to Item Number or Name, and display Quantity On Hand without showing Location. | Frequency: This impacts the team daily, especially in fast-paced environments where quick lookups and inventory visibility are essential. Having to dig into each item for basic information slows down order processing and warehouse coordination. | When team members are unable to search by item description, it leads to delays and potential errors in order processing. Not knowing quantity on hand at a glance leads to overselling or miscommunication. Being able to search more intuitively and view essential data in fewer steps will significantly reduce overhead, improve speed, and empower staff across departments from sales to warehouse to make informed decisions without needing workarounds or additional training.
Attempted Solutions So Far: Users have tried using reports and advanced filters to find inventory details, but these require more time and clicks. Saved views or custom reports are not always real-time and lack flexibility for quick lookups.
Digging deep - Any additional Why behind this request / How was this accomplished before Striven in what system or software: Original Description: I would like the addition of being able to search on the description in addition to the number or name. Also would like to see quantity on hand if there is any. I don’t need to see the location just need to know there’s quantity on hand. | Previously accomplished: Currently, the team searches for Items by number or name only. Descriptions are not searchable, which limits their ability to quickly locate the correct item if only a partial name or descriptor is known. For Quantity on Hand, users must drill down into each item or use reports to view inventory levels, which is time-consuming.
