Name of Feature/Request: Configurable tax agencies per item Imports
What financial, time savings, or quality of life improvements will occur from this: Things to Consider: | Right now you can only flag an item as Taxable (Yes/No) when Importsing - In order to configure what tax agencies are applicable to an item it has to be done manually. Would be a great feature to be able to set these here at the Imports level
We have a tax nexus with about 31 state with a total of over 179 different tax jurisdictions.Of those we have 5 states with a total of 41 jurisdictions that have some level of exemption for apparel.We currently have about 200 apparel items each of which come in at least 5 sizes
For our upcoming Imports that would give us a total of about 1,000 records that would need someone manually assigning the tax exemptions to for up for 5 states and up to 41 jurisdictions. This would be excessively time consuming. Going forward every time we added a new item, which we usually do in a men’s and women’s version and 5 sizes each, someone would have to manually do the above for 10 records.
This situation would not be unique to our business but would apply to any other business that sells aby apparel, protective gear or athletic equipment in multiple states. It was a function in our current outdated ERP and the other ERPs we vetted that did not require manual updating but calculated the tax rates based on a category of Apparel.
