I have 2 jobs for the same client that have the client’s same project number with different names. We have come to find out they are the same job. We have been working on both jobs for a few weeks. So my employees have time on both jobs. The Tasks on the two jobs are different. I have changed the name of both Sales Orders and Projects to match as well as the Sales Order Number. I do not see how to change the Project Numbers to match. How do I do this and is there anything else that needs to be done as well to combine these two jobs? Thanks for your help!
Greetings, @Ely ,
Thank you very much for reaching out. We will be creating a task based on your request, and to better understand your needs, I would appreciate some clarification.
You mentioned “2 jobs”, could you please confirm whether you are referring to Sales Orders or Tasks as jobs?
Additionally, I would like to understand what you meant by “same project number with different names.” In Striven, each project is assigned a unique, auto-generated project #. Could you please clarify what you mean by “same project number”?
Your input will help us ensure that Striven meets your expectations. To proceed effectively, I will continue to reach out to you regarding the task I will create.
Thank you again.
Thank you Debika,
I have two Sales Orders (jobs). I need to combine them since our client had two different people working on different parts of the job and named them differently. In our system I have changed the Sales Order names and Project names to be the same, as well as making the Sales Order number the same. I need to combine the Striven generated project numbers into one number. I have numerous Tasks for each Striven generated project number. They are all unique and do not overlap.
Greetings @Ely ,
Thank you for providing more details about your request.
Based on my understanding, by “combine them,” you want sales orders and projects to share the same name and number to make them related and easy to identify, not fully merge them into a single sales order or project.
Since you have already changed the sales order’s name and number, and only updated the project’s name, you now want to modify the project number generated by Striven. However, Striven auto-generates a unique project ID/number that cannot be edited.
To achieve your goal, you can keep the auto-generated ID/number and add your preferred project number before the project name. This way, the project will display as: [Auto-generated Project ID/number] - [Manually entered Project Number] - [Project Name].
Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns. I will also keep you updated on the task. Thank you!
Thank you @Debika . I would like to merge them into a single sales order and project.
Greetings @Ely ,
