Name of Feature/Request: Can Importsing Work Orders Flag Duplicate Tasks
What financial, time savings, or quality of life improvements will occur from this: When Importsing or creating tasks, have a flag or error message populate that a duplicate task name is already identified in the system. That way the customer does not have to identify duplicates and cancel them after the fact. | Frequency: Uploads/Importss are weekly and sometimes 2 times a week. | This impacts a major new account, and uploads are weekly and sometimes 2 times a week.
This improvement would save significant time manually sorting through tasks that may have been duplicated from customer spreadsheets. And even if the alternate solution is used, there is still significant time spent running reports, combining them with customer spreadsheets and manually looking for duplicates before Importsing.
Attempted Solutions So Far: Creating a custom report using the Tasks dataset. You can do this by navigating to Reports > Report Builder (Beta). Click the + button to add a new report, and then select Tasks from the “Based On” field. Give the report a name and click Proceed.
Since you mentioned the Work Order Request Number is what you use for your Task Names, I would recommend adding Task Name as a column. Feel free to add any other columns that make sense for you.
You can run this report and export it to Excel, which you can then combine with any new spreadsheets your customers send to identify duplicates before Importsing.
