What financial, time savings, or quality of life improvements will occur from this: Calculate Cost/Price of all Items within an Item Group from the Items List. | Frequency: Multiple times a month | “We are now providing tool kits for each of the Project Management (construction sites) we sell, and each project is unique, so we will likely continue to add item groups as new configurations of the tool kit are needed to meet each project’s needs. The reason we need to see both cost and price for the tool kit is because we sell it as a kit (i.e. the customer sees one line item on a quote), and we need to be able to see the profit margin on the kit as a whole. Just today, we sold multiple kits to a customer at a discount, so seeing the cost vs. price was critical to knowing how much of a discount we could allow. In a nutshell, we need to be able to see the total Item Group cost and price to ensure profit margin is appropriate.”

Attempted Solutions So Far: “For now, as I had started doing on our call, I built a report and aggregated by Parent Item Name (which we use as part number) to do this, as shown below. A significant limitation on this is that item qty’s greater than 1 will not add into the total properly. For now, this only happens with the first line item, which is a minor component, so I just changed it to a “pair” and put the cost/price for two. However, this could end up being an issue someday with other item groups we may create.”
