Name of Feature/Request: Add Project and Milestone to the available fields for Create Task action type within workflows.
What financial, time savings, or quality of life improvements will occur from this: Enable the option for tasks generated through workflows to be assigned directly to an existing project, eliminating the manual step of assigning tasks to Project Management post-creation. | Frequency: Every time there is a project for building/designing/shipping products | The customer wants to use Striven’s project capabilities, but they currently feel their Project Libre software is working better for them. This new feature will help them to adopt Project Management more within Striven.
Attempted Solutions So Far: In Striven, utilizing workflows to make the creation of a new task dependent on the completion of another task within the project. In other words the trigger is based on tasks, and the action is to Create a Task when a previous task is marked Done.
The current workflow solution is only a partial solution because tasks created from workflows cannot also automatically be tied to the same project as the preceding task and/or there is no ability to select a project/milestone when setting up the “Create Task” action configuration.
The software they currently use allows them to build milestones and tasks within those milestones, then easily select which tasks are dependent on other tasks being completed. It then builds out a gantt chart schedule for them showing all of the dependencies with arrows connecting the dependencies.
