Customer Reorder Worksheet

Name of Feature/Request: Customer Reorder Worksheet, Build an Invoice from Customer Purchase History

What financial, time savings, or quality of life improvements will occur with this:
Allow a sales representative to select a customer on an invoice and click a “Reorder from Purchase History” button. This would open a consolidated list of items that customer has previously purchased, with each item listed once and a field for entering the quantity needed today.

The representative could review the list with the customer, enter quantities for the items requested, and click “Add Selected Items to Invoice” to populate the invoice.

This would help:

  • Increase sales: Remind customers of products they regularly purchase but may forget to order.
  • Save time: Reduce the need to search through previous invoices and manually locate and add individual items.
  • Improve accuracy: Make it easier to select the correct products, sizes, and units.
  • Improve customer service: Help representatives guide customers through a complete order with less effort from the customer.
  • Support staff coverage: Allow any representative to understand a customer’s purchasing history, even when their usual salesperson is unavailable.

Attempted solutions so far:
There is not a good work-around for this need as far as I know at this time.

Digging deep - Any additional Why behind this request / How was this accomplished before Striven:
Our company supplies businesses that repeatedly purchase many of the same products, but the quantities and combination of items vary from order to order.

During a phone call or sales visit, the customer may not have a complete shopping list ready. A customer-specific reorder worksheet would let the representative ask, “Do you need this item again?” while reviewing products the customer actually purchases. This could prevent forgotten items, reduce follow-up orders, and help capture sales that might otherwise go to another supplier.

The worksheet would be especially useful if it displayed the item name, item code, unit of measure, last purchase date, and last purchased quantity, alongside a blank quantity field for the new order. Search and sorting by most recently or most frequently purchased would help with longer lists.

Items should only be added when a new quantity is entered, and the invoice should use the customer’s current applicable pricing rather than automatically copying historical prices.

The original request is for invoice entry, but the same capability would also be valuable when creating sales orders.

The specific process used before Striven has not yet been confirmed. The underlying need is a repeatable, customer-specific ordering checklist that helps representatives take more complete orders quickly.

Hi Dustin,

I’ve built something similar for a client I work with using the Striven API.

It’s not exactly the same as your request, but I think I could adapt what I’ve built and see if there’s a workable solution for your needs.

I’d be happy to take a quick look at your current process and discuss a few ideas.

Good afternoon, thank you for the information. I think we can build out something as well. I was just hoping that Striven could build this directly in the system. Thank you,
