Name of Feature/Request: Ability to calculate square footage needed by entering Width, Height and Quantity
What financial, time savings, or quality of life improvements will occur with this: Currently we have one field where we need to calculate the square footage of the material needed. It doesn’t keep the formula, so you can’t double check that you have entered the correct numbers. The only way to double check is to do the calculation again. This becomes a bigger problem when we forget to multiply by 2 when two are needed of just that material. We had this issue already occurred where the square footage was calculated but it needed a quantity of 2 to be applied and it wasn’t. This cost us to lose over $1,000 dollars for this line item. I have not checked all my contracts to see where we may have made this mistake as well but obviously this way is prone to errors and will become very costly if we don’t fix the way this is entered in Striven. I am willing to sit with someone to clearly show you the issue.
Attempted solutions so far: keep in mind to keep the 2 and enter them sq/ft calc but this method is prone to errors.
Digging deep - Any additional Why behind this request / How was this accomplished before Striven: In corebridge, the system we used before, we were given 3 fields. Quantity, Width and Height. It was easy to double check what has been entered and if the right quantity was applied.
